In 2016 we wrote a post about the Top 3 Tips to Boost Your SEO. In the two years since, those 3 Tips are still relevant, but we've got a few more for you to help you boost your rankings! Here's 6 more essential tips to improve your SEO!

1. Blogging & New Content

Google loves new content! Change it up, swirl it about, but whatever you do, don't delete any pages! Changes to your content is great, new blogs are also great. Be aware that you shouldn't delete pages though, as Google will penalise you for this.

2. Submit your Site Map to Google

You'd be surprised how many businesses don't realise they need to tell Google what pages it should crawl on their site. Go to the Google Search Console and submit your site map to be crawled.

3. SEO Friendly Page Titles, Tags and URL's

Your pages should have SEO friendly URL's. That means they should be descriptive and refer to what the page does. Also, make sure your pages have titles and use SEO friendly tags such as <h1>, <h2>, <h3> etc. Your images should also have useful information in the ALT tags. This all helps google to crawl your site successfully and provide users with useful results.

4. Local is key!

Google myBusiness provides businesses with a great free tool to advertise their products and services. It's reputable and allows customers find out more about you, call you and get directions to your location.

5. Links

Building good quality links is another great strategy to boost your SEO. It takes some time but having your business listed on quality sites gets good traffic back to your site. Conversely, linking out to other sites from your website is also of great importance. Google loves links!

6. Keywords

Are you checking what keywords relevant to your business that users are searching for? Use these keywords generously in your content and your pages should over time come up in search results. Beware though ... don't overdo it. Google has a knack of knowing if you're up to no good and stuffing your pages with keywords. Good content is your key.

If your site ticks all the boxes above then well done to you! You're making good headway with your SEO.
